Hyundai Palisade vs Kia TellurideThe market is full of Large SUVs to choose from. With an array of dazzling features and stylish exteriors that can satisfy any family, there’s sure to be one that’s perfect for yours. Understanding the features that each car offers and how it performs and handles is an essential step in choosing the right SUV for your family. Two SUVs that are sure to impress this year are the 2022 Hyundai Palisade and the Kia Telluride. Our team at Hyundai of Auburn has put together this guide to go over the features of both of them.

2022 Hyundai Palisade

The Hyundai Palisade is a luxurious vehicle with a smooth ride that makes it a favorite among Hyundai customers. It has a large and imposing frame that maintains a stylish and easily maneuverable experience for the driver.

Exterior

The Hyundai Palisade has kept most of its stylish SUV exterior for 2022 and added side mirrors that feature integrated turn signals to increase driver safety. Other than this integration, the exterior of the 2022 Hyundai Palisade shares many winning design choices with its previous models. LED accents with daytime running lights and headlights are standard across all trims, as is privacy glass in the rear, quarter, and back. This style is available in the following colors; Abyss Black Pearl, Steel Graphite, Rainforest, Typhoon Silver, Moonlight Cloud, Sierra Burgundy, and Hyper White.

The Palisade has four different trim levels: SE, SEL, Limited, and Calligraphy as the luxury option. Each trim has the standard features and some additional features that provide a little more luxury and technology. For example, the higher trims have moonroofs.

Interior

2022 Hyundai Palisade InteriorThe interior of a Palisade is a real selling point. It can seat up to eight passengers in the standard trims, with three rows for all occupants. The second row features one-touch buttons to move the seats forward for easy access to the third row, and you can collapse the third row to provide additional cargo room. There is even extra storage under the floor for more items like dirty shoes from hikes or wet towels from the beach. The versatility of the Palisade’s seating and cargo setup makes it an excellent car for a family that’s up for the adventure.

The Limited trim has luxury Nappa leather seating and all-wheel drive, making it a luxurious car that you can take anywhere. The first and second rows are heated and ventilated so that each family member can have their preferred temperature. The infotainment system is impressive, with a 10.3-inch dash touch screen that handles navigation, phone calls, music, temperature, and all apps associated with your Palisade. There is also a 12-speaker Harman Kardon audio system that provides beautiful sound to your music or the navigation you’ve set up with your wireless connectivity.

The engine is impressive too. It’s a 3.8-liter V-6 engine with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It has 291 horsepower and can tow up to 5,000 pounds. You can hook your camping trailer to the back of this SUV and drive it up a mountain, and the towing capability combined with the all-wheel drive gives you a pretty good chance of getting there safe and sound. All palisades even come standard with trailer pre-wiring and sway control to ensure that you stay entirely in control no matter what you’re towing.

The fuel economy is standard for a large SUV and impressive when considering the power under the hood. You can get 19 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. All-wheel drive can bump the highway numbers up to 24 miles per gallon. It’s a smooth ride with a luxurious interior experience.

2022 Kia Telluride

The Kia Telluride is another large SUV in the luxury market. The Telluride is a fan favorite among Kia customers, but it’s unclear whether its features and style stack up against the Palisade.

Exterior

The inside of the Telluride is a boxier SUV, with almost completely square headlights and an imposing black grille at its front supported on 18-inch alloy wheels. This car comes in eight exterior colors: Everlasting Silver, Dark Moss, Gravity Gray, Ebony Black, Black Copper, Sangria, Glacial White Pearl, and Wolf Gray.

The Telluride has four trims: LX, S, EX, and SX. The LED lights seem to be a higher trim feature, instead of a standard like they are on the Palisade. The higher trims offer a power sunroof, with the SX having a dual sunroof in its design. Solar control glass and sound-absorbing windshield glass are standard for all frames, so you can enjoy the driving experience within the vehicle, even if you don’t have a sunroof.

Interior

The interior of the Telluride provides some of the same luxurious features as the Palisade. It’s spacious enough for eight passengers to sit comfortably and offers the same 60/40 split-folding of the seats to provide additional cargo if needed. Small details like the leather gearshift and the leather-wrapped steering wheel give the vehicle a truly luxurious feel, and you can even opt for a heated steering wheel in the higher trims.

Fuel efficiency is similar to the all-wheel-drive component, both 19 in the city and 24 on the highway. The horsepower is also identical, meaning it is a strong car that could probably also handle towing your camping equipment. However, power isn’t everything. The Telluride’s standard trim has plenty of safe driving systems, like rear cross-traffic collision and lane departure warnings.

If you are looking for a large SUV to carry your family to and from each adventure, both SUVs are quality cars that provide just the right amount of luxury. However, the Palisade does have some benefits of the Telluride that make it a more of a desirable model. You can look at our online inventory of Palisades to see more information about the features available in Auburn. You can also stop by Hyundai of Auburn to make an appointment for a test drive. That way, you can try it out for yourself to decide if this luxury SUV is the right car for you.
